GSACEP Presidential Address
CDR Sean Stuart, DO, FACEP
Friends and Colleagues,
GSACEP remains committed to supporting you at every stage of your career. As we begin 2025, I’m excited to share updates on the work we’ve done to strengthen our chapter and the initiatives we’ve launched to enhance the practice of federal emergency medicine. From new resources to innovative programs, GSACEP continues to grow as a community that empowers its members and advances the field. Together, we’re building on a tradition of excellence to ensure every member has the tools and opportunities to succeed. Over the past few months, we’ve focused on initiatives designed to enhance our ability to serve you better. From launching new resources to building stronger connections across the federal emergency medicine community, we’re working hard to ensure our members are equipped to thrive. Here are a few highlights:
- Webinar Series Launch: This year, we’re introducing a new webinar series, starting with our first session in March. We’re also in the process of organizing a virtual meetup for new matches into emergency medicine to help welcome them to our specialty. Additionally, we’re planning a session designed for soon-to-be graduates to help ease the transition into life as a staff physician. These webinars aim to provide practical, timely support for our members at critical career milestones.
- GSS25 in San Antonio: Registration is now open for the Government Services Symposium, happening April 10-12, 2025. With hands-on skills labs, a dynamic research forum, and a historic reception at the Alamo, this year’s conference promises to be an unforgettable experience.
- New Member Support Initiatives: We’ve started developing updated awards and grants to better recognize and support our members’ achievements. This is just one of the ways we’re expanding opportunities for you to grow and succeed.
Beyond these efforts, we’ve also been working hard to advance federal emergency medicine on a broader scale. Through ongoing conversations with the Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency, and other key stakeholders, GSACEP continues to advocate for the resources and recognition you deserve.
As always, we welcome your involvement in shaping the future of GSACEP. Whether it’s volunteering for GSS25, joining one of our committees, or sharing your ideas for new initiatives, your voice and participation are invaluable.
Thank you for your service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our profession and our country. No matter where you are in your career, GSACEP is here to support you, every step of the way.
