Paul Roszko, MD FAEMS FACEP
LCDR Paul Roszko, MD FAEMS FACEP is an active duty emergency medicine physician and pre-hospital / EMS physician in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. He commissioned into the US Navy in 2006 after completion of ROTC training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and then went onto attend medical school at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. After completing residency training in emergency medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI and EMS fellowship training at the Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency program at Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, he entered into active duty with the Navy and was stationed at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He completed a deployment to the Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2016 and then returned to Portsmouth to serve as the Director for Emergency Medical Services for Navy Medicine East (now Naval Medical Forces Atlantic) and the Director for the Combat Trauma Research Group. After transferring duty stations to Walter Reed in 2018 he participated as an OIC onboard the USNS Comfort in Operation Enduring Promise 2018 and then completed a deployment as part of a Role 2 Light Maneuverable (R2LM) team to West Africa in 2019. He returned to Navy Medicine Readiness & Training Command Portsmouth in 2021 where he served as the Medical Director for Project Caladrius, a DHA supported pilot project to leverage fixed-wing interfacility transport teams to connect smaller MTFs with military medical centers. He also served as a voting member on the Joint Trauma System’s Committee on En Route Combat Casualty Care, provided operational support to the Navy as the Medical Director for Search and Rescue Medical Technicians assigned to HSCWINGLANT, and served as co-chair to the Navy’s Trauma Advisory Board En Route Care Clinical Community. He completed an interservice transfer in 2023 to the US Public Health Service and is currently billeted to the US Department of Veterans Affairs. There is leads the effort to develop telehealth technologies for use in inter-agency NDMS mission assignments and is the VA liaison to the NDMS Pilot project. He also works part time as an emergency physician at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD and is an Assistant Medical Director to Prince George’s County Fire & EMS Department. He has served as a Councilor on the GSACEP Board of Directors since 2018.
