GSACEP Webinar: From the Trauma Bay to the Battlefield: Building Systems That Save Lives

via Zoom

COL (Ret.) Jay Baker, MD is an emergency physician, educator, and retired U.S. Army Colonel whose career has spanned clinical emergency care, medical education, operational medicine, and trauma system development. After training at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, he served for more than two decades in assignments ranging from Iraq and Afghanistan to Europe and the Indo-Pacific, including leadership roles with the Joint Trauma System and as Command Surgeon for I Corps. His work has largely centered on one question: how do we build systems that save more lives? Today, he continues to practice emergency medicine while helping advance military trauma systems, clinical decision support, and artificial intelligence for combat casualty care. His presentation explores the lessons of an Army career and challenges the next generation of military emergency physicians to build what comes next.
