Honoring Service, Supporting One Another, and Looking Ahead
Dear GSACEP Members,
Greetings, and I hope this message finds you well. As we pause to reflect this coming Veterans Day, we honor and remember those we have lost, while continuing to serve, work, and stand for the ideals that define our nation. Thank you all for your service and dedication—both in uniform and beyond.
It was wonderful connecting with so many of you in Salt Lake City during ACEP Scientific Assembly this September. We had a fantastic turnout at our board meeting, reception, and fun run, and it was inspiring to see our active duty, VA, government services, resident, and medical student members coming together and strengthening the ties that unite our community.
We also recognize that the ongoing federal government shutdown has placed significant stress and uncertainty on many of our members. We know this affects not only your professional responsibilities but also your families and communities. Please know that GSACEP stands with you. We’ve gathered several resources to help you navigate this challenging period—ranging from financial assistance options to mental health and peer support programs. Hang in there, and remember that your work and dedication matter deeply, even in times of instability.
A few important updates and reminders:
Even in uncertain times, I remain deeply optimistic. The strength, resilience, and commitment of our members continue to inspire me every day. Together, we will keep advocating, innovating, and supporting those who serve our nation through emergency medicine.
With gratitude,
Justine Stremick, MD
President, GSACEP
