LTC Pearson was born and raised in upstate New York. She is a graduate of Union College with a biology/psychology interdepartmental degree and went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University before completing medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2005. In addition, she holds a second Master’s degree in Public Health, also from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr Pearson completed a transitional internship at Madigan Army Medical Center after which she transition to a General Medical Officer position at Camp Darby, IT. During this time, she deployed with the 1st Cavalry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-08. After a successful tour, she returned to Graduate Medical Education, completing an Emergency Medicine residency at Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center with subsequent fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In addition, she is board eligible in Emergency Medical Services. 

Currently, she is the MEDCoE Command Surgeon and May 2022 will also assume duties as the Chief, MEDCoE Department of Operational Medicine. Dr. Pearson holds an academic appointment Assistant Professor of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, as well as College of Allied Health Sciences, and is a well published clinician. In addition, she often provides lectures for learners at all levels of medical education on the local and national level.

In addition to her dedication to teaching, Dr. Pearson is very dedicated to her profession. She has served as a past president of the Government Services Chapter to the American College of Emergency Physicians (GSACEP). She chairs the conference committee for Physician Mom’s Group which serves 75k+ multi-specialty members.   

She has several military decorations to include the Meritorious Service Medal, 4 Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, 2 Army Superior Unit Awards, National Defense Service Medal Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Humanitarian and Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NATO medal,  Army Service Ribbon, and the Army Overseas Ribbon.  Dr. Pearson has also completed several army professional development courses to include, Officer Basic Course, Captains Career Course, War Surgery, Army Burn Management, Combat Casualty Care Course, and Tactical Combat Care Course.
